Groundbreaking on Liberty Hill

On November 2, 2023 The Charity Foundation’s Board Members and Staff along

with community partners from Boeing SC, Coastal Community Foundation and

South Carolina Association for Economic Development (SCACED) hosted a

groundbreaking event in the historic community of Liberty Hill in North

Charleston, SC.

Rivers, III (Board Chairman), Nashonda Hunter (Executive Director), Amber Stewart (SCACED), Kaela Hammond (Coastal Community Foundation/ Boeing representative).


The home will provide safe, affordable housing for a unique needs individual. This project is a part of the Transformation: Liberty Hill initiative, which strives to

make Liberty Hill “a community of choice, not chance” by providing attainable housing for those in need.


North Charleston City Councilman, Samuel Hart stated that, “Vision can only come into fruition if you have an opportunity to judge the results. With this, you will be able to judge the results."


The Charity Foundation is committed to building affordable housing on Liberty Hill.


Program Director, Amber Stewart spoke on the Community Impact Fund Grant that was used to fund this housing project.
